St Andrew's Charitable Trust India
The trust has been established to raise funds for projects that are supported by our partner churches in India.
We are partnered with Christ the Rock Church, Mount Zion Church and Hepzibah Ministries.
Each of these churches have ministries in various areas.
Christ the Rock Church, ministers to the people who live in a slum area of Chennai. They have sewing classes so that some ladies can learn to sew and then use this skill to make money to support their family. The church also runs tutorial classes for the slum children.
Mount Zion Church supports a local fishing village that was devistated by the Tsunami and the church also supports a leprosy colony on the outskirts of Chenai.
Hepzibah Ministries is in Dundigul and they minister to the mountain tribes and are currently in the process of establishing a meternity clinic which will be of benefit to the women in the surrounding villages.
As a church we are also supporting a Dr Shanti Davidar's clinic for prostitutes and Sangita Orphanage.
Dr Shanti's clinic helps and counsels protitutes and gives them a safe haven to talk.
Sangita Orphanage is currently home to 68 abandoned and orphaned children. The children are cared for and given schooling. A new home for the children is currently undergoing construction.
