ABOUT COUNSELLING
Every so often, we experience difficulties in coping with our day-to-day lives. Sometimes, we are able to resolve these issues by ourselves or with the help of families or friends. Occasionally however, it may be helpful to talk to someone who is both trained and objective.
WHO IS IT FOR?
This service is for anyone in need of support at times of social, emotional or spiritual difficulty.
WHERE DOES IT TAKE PLACE?
Presently the service operates from the Kinglass Centre, Bo'ness.
IS IT CONFIDENTIAL?
YES! Exceptions do arise however when a child’s safety is in question or there is evidence of criminal activity.
WHAT TYPE OF COUNSELLING DO YOU OFFER?
Anger, anxiety or stress, bereavement or loss, separation and divorce, depression, feelings of hurt and rejection, past or present abuse, poor self image, low self-esteem, loss of confidence, relationship problems.
ABOUT THE COUNSELLOR
Presently we have one Christian counsellor who has a diploma qualification in Christian counselling. She is an associate member of COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) and is working towards accreditation. She is also regularly supervised by an accredited counselling supervisor.
MAKING AN APPOINTMENT
All counselling is by appointment only. The first appointment takes the form of discussing why you want counselling and perhaps what changes you would like to accomplish. Further appointments are on a weekly basis and last approximately one hour. For further enquiries telephone: 07768959525 or 01506 825803. You can also email shalomcounsellingforth@blueyonder.co.uk
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
We have no fixed charges however it does cost to run the service and we do depend on clients contributing towards their weekly sessions according to their means. No-one will be refused counselling for financial reasons.
