Our local BB Company, the 2nd Bo'ness Company, are delighted to have been selected as one of the three recipient groups of Tesco's "Bags of Help" scheme running in Tesco Bo'ness and Linlithgow during March and April.
Tesco stores encourages their customers to bring their own reusable bags. In August 2017 they replaced single use carrier bags with new Bags for Life made from 94% recyclable plastic, to help reduce bag use. The money raised from carrier bag sales is used to fund local projects across Britain. Projects range from improving community buildings and outdoor spaces, to new equipment, training coaches and volunteers, and hosting community events. Each time a customer shops they will be offered a blue token at the checkout and be able to vote for the project they want the money to go to. Every two months they hand out grants of up to £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 in 566 regions across Britain. This equals up to £3,955,000 for communities monthly.
BB Leader Neil MacLennan invites local shoppers to consider using their blue token to support the Company and help raise funds for equipment and summer camp.
